My name is Capt. Eric Moltzan. I am the owner and main operator of Muddy Miss Guise Service and Blackfin Salmon Charters.

I grew up in NW Iowa. The Mississippi River was my playground. I started hunting the river when I was 12 years old. Fishing it even earlier. That passion continued to grow. At the age of 20, I decided to start my guide service. At that time, I had no idea what it would turn into. Fastforward 22 years. I now operate the largest service on the upper Mississippi wildlife refuge. In that time, I've expanded into spring snow geese, Lake Michigan charter fishing and winter thermal coyote hunts.

I live for the outdoors. Constantly trying to better my situation, so I can provide even higher quality hunts and fishing.
I employ the best guides and captains. Guys that I trust whole heartedly, to provide the best hunting and fishing opportunities for my clients.

Captain Joseph Vande-hey
​Joe started working for me in 2017.
He has been vital to my operations on the Upper mississippi River.
​
Joe has been waterfowl hunting for 40 years. He's worked as a guide for 15 of those years. Like me, he has a vast amount of knowledge as it pertains to hunting and navigating the Mississippi River.

Joe is a very patient and kind hearted man. He hunts best with youth hunters and older hunters.
​He loves to answer questions and takes the time to explain why we do things the way we do.
​Alex Sprank (guide)
Alex has been hunting snows with me for 10 years. You could say he cut his teeth snow goose hunting with me. We bonded quickly over our insane passion for the white birds. Since that time, he's went from novice hunter, guide then to partner in the snow goose portion of the business.

Alex is a lot of fun to hunt with. Knows his job and does it well. He has great sense of humor and always making jokes.
